Интересная история, которую я совсем пропустил.

Оказывается, в 2020-м году, на волне БЛМ-а и всего такого, управляющие Фондом Викимедиа (это организация, официально поддерживающая Википедию, собирающая средства и т.п.) решили тоже заняться распилом, и потихоньку сплавили примерно где-то  около 10 миллионов в дружественные НПО на цели knowledge equity и всеобщее улучшение нравов.

Подробности, кому не лень, можно начать отсюда: (искать по equity), и далее много где.

Дальше стало интереснее - википедийцы взбурлили и возмутились, что у них увели 10 лимонов неизвестно на что, и даже не спросили разрешения из вежливости. И, долго ли, коротко ли, оказалось, что у CEO Фонда - Катерины Махер, обнаружились другие интересы, не позволяющие ей более оставаться CEO. А у COO - Janeen Uzzell - резко появилось желание внести личный вклад в дело equity, став CEO National Society of Black Engineers (тоже неплохая организация с бюджетом в 13 миллионов - чем занимается, хз, но наверняка equity). Махер, впрочем, тоже не прогадала - она пошла работать в Atlantic Council, и одновременно советует бидону, как вести внешнюю политику, в составе Foreign Affairs Policy Board (если вам очень нравится, как бидон вёл международную политику всё это время - вы знаете, кого благодарить).

Но это ещё не всё. Недавно опубликовали обязательные финансовые отчёты за 2021 год - и оказалось, что борицы за equity не просто так ушли на повышение. Махер ещё выдали выходное пособие в размере полутора годовых зарплат - а именно $623,286, Уззелл получила чуть поменьше, всего $324,748, т.е. чуть меньше годовой зарплаты. Конечно, по сравнению с каким-нибудь Безосом это сущие копейки, так что понятно, что крохоборы не смогли удержать такие ценные кадры, и им только осталось, что кидаться деньгами им вослед.

Но с другой стороны, тут есть повод для оптимизма. Если даже буденовцы википедии не выдержали распила денежек, собранных грустными глазами Джимми Воллеса, на БЛМ и эквити - значит, одержание ещё не завершено, и есть какая-то надежда.
